Listening to my colleagues today talk enrollment funnels and the key notion of yields from applications, I must admit I doodled my way to this poem.

                                              Yield

               It's the products of our hoeing, tilling, seed-planting:

                        Fruit, barley, investment or freshmen,

                          Through concession or capitulation,

                             A deferral to our bottom lines.

                                 I can give you the floor,

                                    The bar sits higher,

                                       At a junction

                                         Where all

                                          Yields to

                                            Yield.
