It's good to see the son be king,

It's petty to think otherwise.

For our kids we'll do everything.

That's why it's hard to just sit by

While institutions fail to bring

Commonest courtesies to them.

They leave the comfort of our wing

To worlds that can kill and condemn,

And a network to which they cling.

But when all those connections fail,

It's hard to salve how it can sting

As they are pushed to prevail.

So, Charles, as you assume your new height

Please don't forget how hard the rest must fight.
