Living in fear crushes initiative,

Devastates values,

Ravages reserves,

And destroys hope.

Walls press closer together

While no escape presents itself.

Everything goes silent

Except the pounding pulse.

Oppressors push on

In pursuit of supremacy,

Commanding authority by

Walling you in fear.

Inside fear resides the remedy

For breaking free,

Seizing back dignity, security,

The ability to breathe.

That which is squashed,

Pulverized to pulp,

Flickers with a flame

Not tyrannized into submission.

In the recesses of spirit

Revolution awaits.

The insurgency's been quiet,

But it rumbles to riot.
