A Matter Of Time
October 5, 2016
Based upon news this week out of Alaska, it is only a matter of time between colleges and universities working with middle college students and colleges and universities working with elementary students. (In case you aren't someone who clicks on links, or does, but is not a careful reader, be aware that one of those two linked stories above is fake. Good luck figuring which is which.)
All in all, it puts me in a poetic mood:
A Matter of Time
It's only a matter of time before your fourth grader
Is evaluating his college prof online,
A matter of time before ratemyprofessor.com
Becomes used to draw a tenure line.
It's only a matter of time before gen ed
Is reduced to a single elective class,
A mere matter of time for the meta-major,
While for career tech given a complete pass.
It will only then be a matter of time
Before employers will bemoan anew
The matter of time they need
To get their hires to have a single clue.
It's only a matter of time before in-seat time
Is finally demolished as a unit of measure,
A matter of time before the Department of Ed
Demands the false bellwether.
It was only a matter of time before parody
Became indistinguishable from our reality,
A matter of time before I started to believe
That no longer is any of this funny to me.
Oh well, maybe I will stop finding it funny. We will have to hope that Monty Tufnel dude doesn't.
