November 10, 2010: 22nd Release/3rd Offering

They loiter around the lawn:
Smug mugs surrounded
By the yawns of indifference.
A quarter to four
And the bus unloads more
Rooks and their pawns
To be separated by porch railings
But little else because
Of the failings of their parents
Busy with pressing sales in
The black, while back in the court,
Those who are short
Or heavy
Or smart
Or simply hurt
Hunker down behind the fortress
Walls of their homes
And their art.
