| What Is My Time Worth?
Circa early 2000s? The pain of committee meetings came as I transitioned from an entirely teaching career to at least part administrator/teacher.
What Is My Time Worth?
They formed a committee,
Two dozen strong,
Met twice a month,
Conversed happily along,
Argued endlessly,
Then discovered they're wrong,
Reconvened several more times,
A process gone on too long.
-----------------
Subcommittees split,
Task forces die,
People just disappear,
Replaced by and by.
Lunches come and go,
Plans go awry.
You think about retiring
But the CREF has gone dry.
-------------------
The universe goes on
No matter what happens here.
To save your sanity
You play games with your peers.
You turn in the mileage forms,
And wait for the check to appear.
You stop looking for logic
And start drinking more beer.
