Pirouette

Circa 1985?

So small and so frail,

You move in pirouettes

With looks of going out of sale

And moves so calculated.

There is not a man here tonight

Who would not lay down his lifeĀ

At your tiny little feet.

--------------------------

The music accompanies you

As you pirouette around the stage.

One side says, "it's for you,"

While the other warns to stay away,

But there is not a man here tonight

Who would not lay down his life

At your tiny little feet.

------------------------------

In one orchestrated finale,

Your pirouette becomes a hundred full turns.

Body language saying, "Look at me,"

And it is a language for which we all yearn,

Because there is not a man here tonight

Who would not lay down his life

At your tiny little feet.
