Codependence Day

July 4, 2025

It's time to unfurl our flags

As white as an albino rat,

Concede control to you,

Pull in our welcome mats.

We need to celebrate the new us,

Our truly great new state.

Nothing more will ever separate us:

We proclaim today as Codependence Day.

When we got married to you,

We knew the union was imbalanced.

What would we have to say

When love is measured by silence.

I tried my best to resist,

I really sought to take a stand,

Got bought off by concessions

Made only to my far off home land.

Like a tree trimmed for the power company:

No branches, just a trunk with lots of bark.

Growth is overrated, green is all woke.

But be sure, sir, we follow you into the dark.

It's time to celebrate the new us,

Cue up the fireworks display.

Nothing more will ever separate us:

God bless us on Codependence Day.
